The Boat: In 2008, the SBCSA’s Boat Building class will complete the two-year project to build an Eddycat, a hard chine, 13’ catboat built by the Eddy Shipbuilding Company in Bay City, Michigan. The boat was designed for Eddy Shipbuilding in 1946 by Doug Van Patten and was very popular in this area

We will be starting a new boat during the 2008 session. This will give new students the opportunity to experience both the startup process and completion of a boat during one winter session. The second boat that will be under construction during the 2008 session will be a Joel White designed Shellback Dinghy. This Shellback will have a completion date of Spring 2009.
