Project Boat #2: 15' Cedar Strip Canoe
The 2012 class will begin the construction of a 15-ft canoe,
a "Bob's Special" (no reference to Mr. Nelb)
following plans from Bear Mountain Boat Works.
The canoe is built using cedar strips so a strongback and
the station molds will need to be set up,
then the class will begin installing the cedar strips.
If you ever wanted to know how a wooden boat goes together or
learn some of the construction techniques that could be used
on your own boat for repairs or modifications,
then this is the perfect class for you.
No previous experience is necessary. All the tools and materials
are provided; you bring the old clothes.
