Membership Benefits
Private Lessons
When their schedules allow, our instructors are available to give members private lessons. To schedule a lesson, a member may contact an instructor directly or call (989) 922-7245. The policy regarding private lessons is:
- Members may arrange with our sailing instructors to receive private lessons.
- All students must be members of the SBCSA before the private lessons can begin and the waiver on the membership form must be signed by the student, parent, or legal guardian.
- Private lessons are limited to two students without permission of the Executive Director.
- The instructor and student will together agree to the desired skills to be developed, the associated proficiency, and the time anticipated to meet these goals.
- The 2008 rate for private lessons is $15.00 per hour per student. The fee is to be paid at the time of the lesson, preferably by check made payable to the SBCSA.
- The maximum amount of time a member may take private lessons is 20 hour.
