Sailing Lessons

Youth Introduction to Sailing II

For ages 8 to about 15. Minimum of 3 students required per session. Maximum of 8 students per session.

Prerequisite: Youth Introduction to Sailing I

Classes

Eight, three-hour classes are given Monday – Thursday over two weeks. Classes may be rescheduled due to inclement weather and strong or no wind.

Cost		SPECIAL OFFER FOR 2010
Member   $60.00		Enrollment in Youth Introduction to Sailing I or II
Non-member   $85.00		at the non-member rate includes a one-year Youth membership in the SBCSA, a $25 savings.

Course Objectives

• Build on skills learned in Introduction I
• Perfecting tacking and jibing techniques
• Sailing upwind close hauled
• Sail trim and telltales
• Sail controls and sail shape
• Proper weight distribution

Session 6 Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu 8/9 - 8/12 Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu 8/16 - 8/19 1:00 P.M. – 4:00 P.M.

Additional sessions may be added if there is sufficient demand.
